I looked at this book purely from a practical perspective, the book covers a lot just what it does not cover is large equally far as I'grand concerned. I have this book on kindle and only spent around $16.00 for it, then not bad.
The volume does talk over advantages, disadvantages, usual finishing, usage, the fabrics strengths, weaknesses, usual cobweb content, and distinctive features. What it is missing is what would make a book like this applied. Best Laundering practices, needle sizes and best stitch to utilise, I looked at this book purely from a applied perspective, the book covers a lot only what it does not cover is big as far as I'grand concerned. I have this volume on kindle and merely spent around $16.00 for information technology, so swell.
The book does discuss advantages, disadvantages, usual finishing, usage, the fabrics strengths, weaknesses, usual fiber content, and distinctive features. What it is missing is what would make a volume like this applied. Best Laundering practices, needle sizes and best stitch to utilise, best seam finishes, which of these fabrics pair best with each other etc. I would take gladly paid more coin for those missing items and textile swatches to be included. Those features would have provided an invaluable resource.
My thoughts visually appealing book lots of information only when you are well-nigh to run up will y'all be pulling this volume out, and the respond is no, and I'm not certain you lot will pull it out at the designing stage either.

When I am designing I prefer to just order swatches, but I can see someone looking through the book and determining if the fabric will do what it wants, the problem lies in the fact that yous have to physically know, how a material will behave to sympathize if information technology will do what you lot desire (hence fabric swatches are needed )and I am not then certain you need this volume for that.
My conclusion is that for a beginner who knows very little nigh textile and cloth production this will exist a decent book to have when first learning but beyond that I would say definitely utilize the await inside feature or scan at a store/library earlier committing to this buy.

I practise like the fact that this volume is environmentally friendly in that it points out parts where the producers demand to be mindful of the employees health and environmental bear on of production. Major kudos for that 1.
I likewise like the first part of the book that goes into textile production.

Very informative. This is an A-Z book for manner students.The writer starts from basic information beginning and and so proceeds with the actual content.Each and every fabric is explained nicely in a lucid language.Things are pretty easy to understand, even layman tin beginning reading. Filled with a lot of pictures.

Beautiful book, rich in color. I just wish it had real swatches like most material books.

This is a very comprehensive reference book on textiles, including background on cobweb types, common uses for unlike fabrics, etc. I would definitely recommend this book as a become-to reference.
